The Brains Behind This Operation

Hi! My name is Jonathan Wondrusch. I bring ideas and inspiration to life.

I believe in the life-changing power of creativity. I have watched creativity in action—in myself and in others—transforming every area of life and business. Creativity isn’t just art. It’s the way we look at the world and how we discover solutions.

Creativity is found in every field, from botany to business, from doodling to design. Every time we create, bringing a new idea into the world, we are channeling our creative energy. This is how the world is changed—one creative act at a time.

From the earliest age, my doodles have boldly filled page after scribbled page.

As a student, I had an insatiable love for art and technology. From the moment my fingers started tapping on a keyboard and clicking a mouse, I was painting and designing in Photoshop or building 3D Characters in Maya.

At fourteen, I founded my first business designing and building websites for local businesses. For the next few years, this business grew and eventually financed my college education.

At the seasoned age of eighteen, I walked into a movie theater with a vague life direction of wanting to combine  my passion for art and technology.  After seeing The Incredibles (my favorite movie to date), I had discovered my path: character animation.  I wanted to bring characters to life.

I spent the next four years studying Art, Animation and Applied Computer Graphics. After graduation, I took these skills and launched into the field of 3D animation.  I moved cross country for my job “in the industry.”

Every day was a dream come true.

And then something strange happened.

I had an itch.

After spending four years becoming an animator (arguably the most awesome job in the world), and achieving it, I found myself freelancing, building websites and helping people bring their dreams to life when I wasn’t animating.

Through the ups and downs of working in the project-to-project animation industry, I realized that I adore animation, but my first love is creation.  It can be anything: scribbles in a notebook, writing a story, shooting a film… or designing an e-book, launching a website or dreaming of the next business.  Creation is what lights me up like a zillion-watt human light bulb.  The freelancing itch reminded me of something:

When launching a blog or creating a business, we take bold leaps into forging our own future.  This is the ultimate act of creation.

Through my years as an artist, designer, animator, filmmaker, storyteller, freelancer and doodler, I have come to believe in this simple truth.  The act of creation and sharing draws people to you.  The more incredible the creation, the more people are drawn in.  When a blog and a business can draw people in, it thrives.

I founded By Bloggers in late 2010 and the dream of helping bloggers and entrepreneurs bring incredible products into the world—even if they had never created a product before.  Every day since then, I have been sharing my knowledge of how to produce ever more brilliant creations.

The thought process is simple: Better products, better business, better life.  I hope you join me in this journey.
